About
Who I am
I'm a Software Developer with 2 years experience. Primarily working with NextJS, TypeScript, Python, SQL & No SQL Databases.
Originally from Cebu, Philippines, but I also lived and studied in Manila, specifically at De La Salle University Dasmariñas, where I graduated with a degree in Computer Science majoring in Intelligent Systems. Currently based in Abu Dhabi.
Tooling side, I am comfortable with the stack that I am currently using such as Git, GitHub & GitHub Actions which are the basic components in DevOps, NextJS/ReactJS for frontend works, and Python & JS backend frameworks like ExpressJS, Flask and FastAPI.
In the span of my career, I have worked with different types of projects with different tech stack and different requirements which I find totally enjoyable. Currently I am more invested in learning cloud such as AWS, GCP and some AI Integrations and automations 🥸
Outside of work, I love going to the gym, watching movies and reading articles. On the personal side, I live by the mantra amor fati, loving whatever comes my way, the good and the bad.
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Things people ask
Didn't find what you're looking for? Shoot me a message.
How did you get into software development?
Honestly, I was more inclined to hardware before, so my first choice was IT. Unfortunately, slots were full so I ended up enrolling in CS. I hated it at first, I genuinely sucked at coding and struggled a lot. But over time I learned to embrace it, and eventually it became 'not that bad' after all. Funny how things work out.
What's your favorite tech stack right now?
Mixed! I love NextJS due to its simplicity, all in one frontend and backend, then for Infrastructure AWS (I learned a lot here from tinkering EC2, S3, SQS and such) for backend right now is FastAPI since its modern, high performance and async features!
What are you currently learning?
Learning more about AI Frameworks specifically LangChain & Haystack. Besides those I am also learning some cloud stuff
Why did you move to Abu Dhabi?
My parents are currently residing in the UAE specifically in Dubai, I got invited to "test the waters" and ended up getting hired in AUH
What does amor fati mean to you?
To love one's fate is to embrace whatever is happening in your life. Whatever you experience may it be setbacks, blessings and such treat is as a valuable experience and use that experience to uplift them at some point.
What's your gym routine like?
Trying to hit gym consistently since its the main outlet outside of coding aaaannd I want to get my body back
Are you open to freelance or collaboration?
Of course! I am always open to intersting projects and collaborations. Wether its a side gig, an open source contribution, or just idea validation. Feel free to reach out!
